Students use totally safe synthetic blood to investigate how gravity, distance, force, and angle of impact affect blood spatter patterns. They learn how luminol is used and how to construct and investigate with a blood spatter chamber. Includes directions and student worksheets for calculating angle of impact, area of convergence, and point of origin from blood spatter patterns. Includes a literary component for staging and analyzing a crime scene scenario. Allow 2-1/2 hours of lab time plus 1-1/2 hours of class time to complete the seven activities. A black light is required. Designed for 24 students working in groups of four.
