(Kemtec) Using simulated urine samples, students are introduced to biomedical urinalysis procedures similar to those utilized in medical laboratories to test for glucose, albumin, pH, specific gravity, and lead; to observe sediment found in urine; and to determine general characteristics of the urine sample. No urine or human products are used in this kit. Materials are sufficient for a class of 30 students working in teams of two. Each pair determines the characteristics of four "urine" samples. Required but not supplied: centrifuge & tubes, bunsen burner; 15 test tubes; 15 test tube racks, 15 test tube holders; 14 urine hydrometers and urinometer jars; 30 aprons; 30 pair gloves; 30 goggles; 1+ urine hydrometer, 1+ urinometer jar.
